Greetings! Thank you for your support, advice and trust this term as we navigated the unprecendented and made tough budget and policy decisions in Montpelier. With the Legislature adjourned, I’ve been distilling where we landed on key issues and contemplating how to press on with the many important efforts that hit road blocks this session. We compromised and collaborated to make progress on a number of fronts, including new housing and homelessness initiatives, ongoing education transformation, civil protections against the lawlessness emanating from federal action, and course-correcting on land use regulation. Amid the tumult, it was a welcome gift to meet with creatives like the music therapists pictured above, as well as mentors, students, teachers, coaches, Indivisible members, athletes, and even therapy dogs who visited the State House this session from our community. I’m committed to staying the course through the challenges and setbacks and remain encouraged and inspired by the way our community stands up for its values and for the most vulnerable among us. Should I be re-elected for a third term, I’ll do my best to put our values into action and keep focusing on the long game, investing in the social, natural and built infrastructure we need to adapt and thrive.
