Summer greetings!

Since this intense session came to a pause on May 31st, I’ve been enjoying a chance to reconnect at my job and visit with family out of state. The session has gone longer than usual given the complexity of the tasks at hand and the many new hands at work this past session. It’s been a privilege to be back in the State House working on your behalf to address pressing needs and new threats — thank you for staying connected as things evolve. I’ve enjoyed serving alongside Rep. Candice White who has brought wonderful curiosity and commitment to her new role.

On June 16th, we’ll reconvene in the State House for a vote on an education transformation bill (H.454) that reflects the consensus of our committee of conference. I appreciate the ongoing input of many community members on how best to move forward on needed education system reform without risking what’s working well and losing what we love about our schools. There’s a lot on the line and much to follow as negotiations continue this week, starting tomorrow. Read on for details on how to follow the action.
